Robert Vacek


Rob is a Partner at Rockmont Capital Partners and President and CEO of Western Industrial Contractors, a Rockmont portfolio company. He is an experienced executive with more than 25 years of results-oriented experience in the growth, operations, and turnaround of numerous businesses. Prior to joining Rockmont, he was President of Starsys, Inc., a satellite components manufacturer based in Boulder, Colorado. Rob also has held executive leadership positions at Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp. and the USAF Space Division.

Throughout his career, Rob has led programs and companies with core competencies in engineering and project management, and revenues ranging from $1 million to more than $200 million per year. He has a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of New Mexico.

Royce Graham


Royce began his career with Western Industrial Contractors in 1985. His experience includes managing complex airport projects at a number of locations, including DIA, JFK, LAX, and Chicago O’Hare. Additionally, he was responsible for a contract to install EDS and EDT systems at more than 75 airports nationwide. Royce also has managed complex modernization projects in more than 20 USPS facilities, which included surgical demolition of antiquated systems as well as the design, fabrication, installation, and integration of modern material handling technologies.

Through the years, he also has completed projects for Coors, the USPS, Denver International Airport, Siemens, PacifiCorp, Ball, United Airlines, American Airlines, and Lockheed Martin, among others. Royce has extensive field and project management experience that includes working in both operational facilities and completing green field projects.

Mark Stephens


Mark Stephens began his career with Western Industrial Contractors as the controller in 2001, and became Chief Financial Officer in 2004. Prior to joining Western, Mark was a principal in a local CPA firm, where his responsibilities and experience included the preparation of all levels of financial statements, conducting audits, consulting, completing business valuations, preparing tax returns, not-for-profit and governmental reporting and auditing, preparation of payroll and sales tax reports, and estate planning.

Since joining Western, Mark has assumed responsibility for all financial reporting, insurance policies, bonding, banking relationships, contract administration, and compliance with union agreements.

Bret Wanty


Bret Wanty joined Western in 2014 and has over 15 years of experience in safety management and human resources. Bret spent 30 years in the USAF and has led 3 Major Command’s safety programs; European Command , Space Command and Pacific Command. Bret was also the Safety Manager for 3 installation safety programs heavily concentrated within industrial construction and aircraft maintenance. He is responsible for ensuring that Western Industrial is compliant with applicable federal, state, and local government regulatory agencies, including the Department of Labor, Department of Homeland Security, EEOC, OSHA, MSHA, and EPA. Bret works closely with Western’s project managers and field superintendents to confirm Western’s policies and procedures are completely implemented. Bret has a Masters of Science Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Environmental Management.

John Eddy


John joined Western in 2015 after working for years alongside Western as a local-area general contractor for many of our top clients. John has been in the construction and engineering industry for 11 years, and brings experience managing projects for both large and small general contractors as well as large engineering firms. John oversees Western’s Airport Division.  John graduated in 2009 with Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Rick Wells


Rick Wells joined Western in 2005 and adds seven years of management and material handling experience to the team. Rick has managed projects in airports and United States Postal Service facilities and is now General Manager of Western’s Food and Beverage Business Unit. Prior to joining Western, Rick was an aircraft commander and satellite crew commander in the U.S. Air Force. He is still serving part-time as a senior command pilot in the C-130H3 aircraft in the Wyoming Air National Guard. Rick has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Economics.

Brian Armstrong


Brian Armstrong comes to Western with over two decades of management and material handling experience.  Brian has managed multi-site network and fiber optic ring deployments in the telecommunications industry as well as material handling system deployments and new facility activations for the US Postal Service.  Brian is now the General Manager of Western Industrial’s Hawaii Operations and oversees both maintenance and capital improvement efforts for clients in a variety of industries including airports and power generation.  Brian has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.

Zeb Kopasz


Zeb Kopasz joined Western in 2014 and has seven years of engineering and project management experience. He has experience working in the Oil & Gas, Parcel, Power, & Mining industries on both capital and maintenance projects. He has managed numerous high profile and schedule driven projects throughout the United States.
Zeb now oversees Western’s Parcel Business Unit. Prior to joining Western, Zeb managed business development, operations, and projects for two tank companies. Zeb has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering.

Chuck Redmond


Chuck joined Western in 2006, and has more than ten years of project management experience. He has bid and managed numerous complex projects within the airport, power, and parcel & postal industries.

Chuck now oversees Western’s Power and Heavy Industrial Business Unit. Prior to joining Western in 2006, he worked for Design Systems, Inc. as a project engineer, providing on-site resident engineer support on various USPS Projects across the United States. Chuck has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration.

Ryan McNellis


Ryan McNellis joined Western in 2009 and has over five years of management and material handling experience. He has prepared bids, coordinated, and managed complex projects in airports, manufacturing facilities, and numerous United States Postal Service facilities. His diverse experience also includes work with corrugated box and alternative fuel industries.

Ryan now oversees Western’s USPS Business Unit as a General Manager. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management.

Russ Martinez


Russ has over 25 years of experience in engineering and quality assurance, including conveyor and machine design, structural design, pressure vessels and boilers design, process and power piping, and machine tooling and fixtures. He has over 10 years of Parcel material handling experience and has designed systems for FedEx Ground, UPS, and the US Postal Service. He is familiar with all ISO quality system elements and is Six-Sigma trained. Russ manages Western’s engineering department and is responsible for all technical aspects of the design and engineering process. He participates in customer bidding, job walks, and authors technical proposals. He also manages our ASME / National Board “R”, “S” & “U” Stamp Program, and is responsible for compliance to customer quality requirements. He oversees our welder certification to AWS and ASME standards, as well as all repair, alteration and new construction work conducted under our ASME / NBIC Code Stamps. Russ has bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an associate’s in metallurgical engineering.

Joey Robins


Joey has been in industrial fabrication and construction for more than 18 years. His work with Western includes fabrication and installation of mechanical structures, mechanical systems, process piping, and conveyance systems for the USPS, Denver International Airport, Ball, Rexam, Xcel Energy, and PacifiCorp, among others.
