Tilt Tray Sorter Upgrade
The Tilt Tray Sorter upgrade program has been implemented by the United States Postal Service in order to increase PSM sorter life span.
WIC replaces existing metal machinery (chain, track, and carriages) with more durable composite components. The shaft is then replaced and or refurbished and bull gear is realigned and adjusted to conform to the newly installed parts.
The upgrade process takes approximately 24 days to complete. Once completed the sorter will run quieter and more efficiently. The use of composite material allows for easier maintenance. |
