Ventilation and Filtration System (VFS)

The VFS program was a two year program where Western performed installation services for Siemens. Western’s mission was to install 1,060 VFS units at 279 USPS locations across the country. Western mobilized 10 traveling teams consisting of a Millwright Supervisor, a Controls Technician and a 54,000 GVW truck to haul the specialized equipment required for the job. Western completed this program on time and with zero accidents. Western managed asbestos abatement activities at over 100 sites and never experienced a hazmat incident. Special thanks and recognition goes to the National Office of the Millwright Union for structuring a project specific agreement for this program by providing competitive wages and flexible crewing arrangements that were used in every major city in the nation.
